The Hotel Mac & Suites

I want to shout out and recognize the staff at Hotel Mac, more specifically Desiree, Blanca, and the wait staff in the restaurant. This weekend I wanted to propose to my girlfriend and once I disclosed that to them, they went above and beyond the typical courtesy and expectations to ensure that our special occasion would be memorable. I cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation for the staff at Hotel Mac, as well as the ambience of this historic gem. This past weekend was absolutely majestic and we will be back for sure!!!!

I would stay here again but, I am highly disappointed in their early check-in policy. We traveled in from out of town to attend a relative’s graduation. I asked if we could check-in 1 hour early to freshen up and change. She confirmed our room was not being occupied the prior night so early check-in was available but, would result in a $50 charge. When I asked, “even for only an hour?” She became defensive and said their check-in time of 3pm is an hour earlier than most hotels nationally. This had no bearing on our situation and her defensiveness just created a bad experience from the onset. Restaurant was terrific as was housekeeping. Lastly, our room was in the carriage house and it would have been nice to know just how close it is to the train tracks and just how many trains run overnight. I was woken up several times per night. With that said, the do provide ear plugs (presumably for that reason) which I did not use. It would have been nice to know this fact at the time our reservation was made. Overall, a good experience…just a couple of improvements would have made it great!

The Hotel Mac was a lovely boutique hotel in a cute, walkable town. Checkin was easy and the room was clean. My two negative observations here are 1. Our rooms windows didn't seem water tight. The wooden blinds were warped and that wasn't the only sign of wear in the room. 2. The bigger issue was that the locks were not mounted correctly. I would strongly recommend that the Hotel Mac have a proper locksmith ensure that their locks and doors are fitted properly. I would wholeheartedly return to this place, but I would feel better with a bit more upkeep and better attention to physical security.

Planning an event at the BiancoVerde Restaurant is wonderful to say the least. Blanca, who manages events is one of the most wonderful individuals. We planned an 80th birthday event with 30 people, and it was more than worth the money. The service was fantastic, and so was the food. It would never have been so incredible without Blanca's help. Although we has last minutes changes, she accommodated everything to make this even one that everyone said was fantastic. I highly recommend this place for a special occasion event.

I can't get enough of this place! The food is always consistently amazing Service is friendly & I love the bartenders : Julio, Robyn (Robin) & Ian. The cocktail menu is ! During certain seasons they even change up the menu for drinks! Love this place! A+++ all around

Kimmy and I client meeting in point Richmond and decided to stay overnight. Hotel mac provided a room in carriage section of hotel. Excellent room with full kitchen, cute patio, bath with stand up shower. Ample parking. All of town with walking distance. Highly recommend for you and furry friend.

Interesting and neat place to stay. The room we had in the Annex building was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was supportive and comfortable to sleep on. Everything was clean. It was handy to have the little kitchen area with sink and a microwave. Would have been nice to have paper towels for the dining table. The building itself was quiet. Train and shouting from an upset individual in the early hours not uncommon in this area. Overall, if you find yourself in this area needing a place to stay, this is a pretty good choice. Stayed here a second time a year later. We can room 102 and the shower was spacious and the kitchen and dining room bigger than the annex rooms. There was a patio too but we didn't go out since it was still cold out. Great staff and the room was comfortable and very clean. The bed was firm and the sheets were soft. Very comfortable night's sleep.

My Husband haven't stated here for years, since it closed , but I'm happy to know it has a new owner. The restaurant & bar, however is different. We’ve been patronizing this Restaurant & bar for years, but the quality of service has declined. The staff often seem lackadaisical, and doesn’t feel genuine or welcoming. Because of this, we’ve reduced how often we visit. We prefer to spend our time at places with a more balanced and diverse staff that show appreciation for their customers and for the community they serve without bias.
